Good Luck Girls!

I was recently asked by my very good friend, Ronette in Vancouver, to come up with some designs for "Good Luck" or "Best Wishes" cards. She is a singer with the Sweet Adelaides Chorus (sorry about spelling Ronette) in Vancouver, and they have an annual competition coming up this spring. And how thoughtful of them, they are planning to send, to other choruses in their region, a card to wish them good luck, as I hear they are friendly competitors. I was lucky enough to receive a copy of their latest CD before christmas this past year, and they sound wonderful, and I jumped at the chance to make something up for them.

This first one, uses one of my favorite background stamps, the French Script, along with the Flowers from Tag Time and "Good Luck" from Sincere Salutations. The colors are Regal Rose with Mellow Moss.

This next card, is a spinoff from the other black and whites I've made this month. I just love the white embossing on the black and threw in some black embossing on the white this time. I just love how this card reminds me of a piano with all the black and white keys. (And I just had to borrow a stamp from Stampers Anonymous to help me out on this one). I think that this one is my favorite.

And, another spinoff from my Amethyst and Apricot Polka Dots and Paisley card, I add journaled the words on the front, with the "Write me a Memory, Journaling Fonts CD, from Stampin' Up! These CD's offer the ease and flexibility of computer journaling while providing the handwritten look that makes each page feel unique and personal. I love how they finish off a scrapbook page just perfectly setting the feel of the page. Perfect and Polished!

And I just had to throw in this last card too. We made this one at my open house last month for the Sell A Bration. The Certainly Celery and Apricot Appeal are so springy. This Happy Harmony stamp set, which I think was my favorite, along with all the other Sell A Bration sets are just about gone, don't miss out!

From the Heart...

This is a cutsie Easter card, in bashful blue, so saffron and certainly celery with the blue gingham ribbon. The background stamp is from the new Polka Dots and Paisley stamp set coming up in the new Spring Mini Catalogue. Used as well, are the Festive Four and the All Year Cheer! Just cute! Very simple, yes, but sometimes it doesn't take a whole lot too make up a good card. The best cards though, are those just made from the heart. And that's why I love to do what I do. Makes "giving from the heart" a truer meaning, to give something I've made!

Find Joy In the Little Things

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, sometimes we get little surprises from Stampin' Up!, like this great new Cute Stamp Set, Polka Dots and Paisley. This set will appear in the upcoming spring mini catalogue, but as a demonstrator, it landed in my mailbox in December as a delightful christmas surpise!

This adorable little set is a perfect reminder to all of us to find joy in the little (and maybe unexpected) things in life!

I was involved in another card swap this month, using this stamp set, and this is the card that I created. Using Almost Amethyst and Apricot Appeal, it makes it a "very spring-like" card. I will look forward to sharing with you, the cards from my swap when I get them. And they are all featuring this great new stamp set. Stay tuned...

Easter Blessings

Pastels, certainly say "Easter Colors". This card is made with Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron and Almost Amethyst and White Grosgrain Ribbon. The Easter Basket is from the Festive Four stamp set and the Easter Blessings is from the Fancy Flexible Phrases. I covered the entire white piece with the basket with versamark and embossed it with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. It give is that glittery shine, without glitter falling off everywhere after the card is made. And the background stamps come from the Beyond the Basics and Itty Bitty Backgrounds Sets.

Just a reminder that the last day to order out of the Sell A Bration Brochure is February 26th, or the Winter Mini Catalogue, on February 28th.

I'll Take The Challenge!!!

Our Stampin' Up! group was put to the test to see how we could use these colors on a card: Lavendar Lace, Rose Red, Marigold Morning and Old Olive. So, I took the challenge and here it is. I used the easter basket from Festive Four and the "Happy Easter" from All Year Cheer, through in a little of the black gingham ribbon to "top" it off. I matched the colors of the paper with coloring in the baskets and eggs with my Stampin' Pastels. Because the pastels come in each of the 4 Color Groups of 48 Colors, matching and coordinating is really easy. Gives it that polished look, and I don't even have to try. Always love that! And I think one of my most favorite tools of the year has been this tag punch. Makes making tags super easy and so many of the stamps I have fit perfectly into that tag size window!

And yes, Easter will soon be on it's way, so keep checking back for more Easter Inspiration!

Congratulations Baby

Here's a baby card I made for my mom just recently to give to someone special. It is called a waterfall card. And if you pull the ribbon on the right, it flows through the pictures like a waterfall, until you get to the end where I stamped "Congratulations".

Who wouldn't like receiving something as cute as this after having a baby! The Cool Caribbean Blue is very "Boy". The stamps that I used were from the Baby Firsts, and Beyond the Basics Sets. So Cute! This is just one of the great techniques that I get to learn at my monthly Stampin' Up! Meetings with my fabulous fellow Stampin' Uppers!

More Happy Hearts...

I've always liked these 3 colors together. Mellow Moss, Real Red and Black. Here's a couple of variations, using the Happy Hearts stamp set. I embossed the hearts in black to really make them stand out and versamarked the hearts in the background on the Moss. And another stamp set that I now use so much is the Fancy Flexible Phrases, found in the Winter Mini Catalogue, for a couple of more weeks. The scanned version of these cards doesn't show the great coloring, as it should, but is rather simple but elegant in real life!

What a week! After being down under the weather, I'm so happy to be back... and four cards later this afternoon, still going strong! I had a class this past weekend and we used the "Love Matters" Stamp set. And one of the ladies in the group, tweaked our card a little, "to make it her own" as I tell everyone to do, and it gave me a little inspiration for another card of my own. I love how I not only bring ideas and inspiration to the people who attend my classes and workshops, but I don't think you know how much you all, in turn, inspire me too! I'm always watching for new ideas and sometimes, you are the ones who put "the bug" on my page (or card, so to speak). So thanks to all of you, for your inspiration and ideas when you have them. And that's why I enjoy having feedback on my blog too. Tell me what you like, and what inspires you! My friend Ann says to me, "Stamping is better than Counselling", and I agree. So I say, "Be Inspired, Create and Just Stamp and Have Fun!!!"

This card was specifically made for you, Bev! For all that you inspire in my stamping abilities. Using the Love Matters Stamp Set, I love the effect of the black and white together. It's a twist from the "Love" card I made last week. And on the black paper this time, I embossed the images with white embossing powder. Added a punched out white daisy and anchored it with some black gingham and white grosgrain ribbon with a black brad. Simply Classy! Just like my friend!

And of course since Valentines is on its way, I was inspired by my two cuties today as we made our Valentines cards for their friends. And they did their "stamping
like mommy does" (as they say) but with Teddy Bears and Wheelbarrows full of overflowing hearts. Okay okay, no, they are not my Stampin' Up! Stamps, but I'm not that brave yet. Baby Steps! They're 2 and 4 and out to catch me when I'm not looking. We had so much fun!!!




And this card, another twist of the black and white and the Love Matters Set. I Love It!
